Onasmrithi

WEN Kottayam Chapter came together for WENONAM PONNONAM.. ONASMRITHI at Stay Samara Resort, Viloonni, on 12th September. Almost 60 members joined in to celebrate the festival in true WEN spirit. The day began with the lamp lighting, moved into the graceful thiruvathira, and continued with songs, cultural programs, games, and laughter. We ended it with a traditional Onam Sadya that left everyone smiling and satisfied.

Stay Samara was the perfect setting for our Onam celebrations, adding beauty and warmth to the occasion. All our committee members took up different responsibilities and ensured that every moment was thoughtfully planned, creating one of the most fun-filled and memorable events for everyone.

The celebration was not just about Onam but about the togetherness we share as a chapter. Memories were captured in pictures, but more importantly, they were etched in our hearts. The day reminded us once again why our WEN sisterhood feels like family.

One Day Trip with Overnight Stay

Our much-awaited trip finally happened on the 20th and 21st of September, with 25 members travelling to Thayillkadaloram by Kovalam Gymkhana, Kovalam.

The weekend gave us the perfect space to unwind, share stories, laugh together, and strengthen our bond as a team. The beautiful setting, good food, and carefree conversations made it a memorable experience for everyone. Along the way, we faced small challenges, but we tackled them together, and that’s what made the journey even more meaningful. The trip reminded us that WEN is not just about meetings and programs but about standing together in every situation. Members returned refreshed, happy, and already looking forward to the next trip.

WEN Carnival

On 8th August, 20 members travelled by bus, train, and car to attend the WEN Carnival held at the Lulu Hyatt Convention Center. The event was organized by the Thrissur Chapter and saw participation from all chapters. The carnival was open for all to attend.

Kottayam chapter organized and conducted the student press meet. After the inauguration and photos, preparations were made for the panel discussion, which was a roaring success. Our Chapter advisory member, Ms. Chinu Mathew, was part of the panel discussion conducted during the student press meet. Students participated with enthusiasm and continued discussions with the panelists even after the program.

The venue featured colourful stalls, a vibrant food court, and a lively atmosphere. Members visited the stalls, purchased products, and connected with chapter members. They also assisted in various stalls, enjoyed the food, and witnessed the fashion show and the silent DJ before bidding farewell to the venue.

WEN Mizzle

On June 18, 2025, the WEN Kottayam chapter marked a significant milestone with its first official offline gathering, WEN Mizzle 2025. The event was held at Hotel Aida, Kottayam, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and was coordinated by Buddy Groups - Hustling Honeys, Pink Warriors, and Dream Catchers, with sponsorship from Utkarsh Bank.

A Fun-Filled Learning Experience

The event was a perfect blend of interactive learning and entertainment. Mr. Lorance Mathew, Assistant District Industries Officer, Dept. of Industries & Commerce, delivered an informative talk on government subsidies and assistance for businesses, with a special focus on women-owned enterprises. The session was engaging, and members were eager to learn more about the topics discussed.

Showcasing Businesses

Fifteen members got the opportunity to showcase their businesses, gaining visibility among the audience. This platform allowed them to connect with fellow entrepreneurs and potential customers.

A Monsoon-Themed Celebration

The event was designed to capture the essence of monsoon, with the room decorated in soothing colors of green, blue, and white. The highlight of the event was a fun-filled dance performance by talented WEN members, themed around the monsoon season. The event concluded with a high tea, leaving participants with a sense of fulfillment and relaxation.

A Successful Event

WEN Mizzle 2025 was a resounding success, with every participant actively engaging in the learning session and fun activities. The event was a testament to the power of community and the importance of supporting women entrepreneurs. Dr. Sheeja Abel's MCing, Anna Scaria's warm welcome, and Reeba Varghese's presidential address set the tone for a memorable evening. The new members were warmly welcomed and inducted, and the oath ceremony added a sense of commitment to the group's mission.

Breathe- Heal- Rise

On May 15, 2025, WEN Kottayam organized a mental wellness workshop titled "Breathe Heal Rise," marking the first session of the renewed chapter. The event took place from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm and featured two esteemed speakers: Anna Mary Scaria, a self-love coach and Head Coach of Puja Puneet, and Saritha C Nair, a Consultant Psychologist and Hypnotherapist

The workshop began with an address by the Chairperson, setting the tone for an enlightening session on mindfulness and relaxation techniques. The speakers shared valuable insights on the importance of mindful practices and guided the 36 attendees through exercises to promote relaxation and calmness. The session was well-received, with members finding it thought-provoking and beneficial for their personal growth.

The event was efficiently coordinated by the Buddy group, Soul Sisters, comprising Jesna Abel, Catherine Philip, Teena Maria Philip, and Minu George. They ensured a seamless experience for the attendees, handling logistics and technical aspects with ease.

The session included a Q&A round, where the speakers patiently addressed members' queries, providing guidance on incorporating mindfulness practices into daily life. The workshop concluded with a deeply relaxing guided meditation, followed by an intriguing proposal for a 30-day Mystical Experiment.

"Breathe- Heal- Rise" marked a promising start for the renewed WEN chapter, showcasing the organization's commitment to supporting members' mental well-being and personal growth. The event's success was a testament to the power of community and the importance of prioritizing mental health.

In the land of latex, lakes & letters, WEN has under its umbrella, a group of steadfastly growing, women led businesses that work toward empowerment through training, learning,collaborating and networking.

Empowered Women Empower Women

As we embark on a new dawn and a new day, our vision remains steadfast: "Empowered Women Empower Women" to stand firm, grow higher, and touch the sky. The WEN Kottayam Chapter proudly introduces its 2024-2025 Committee, carrying the torch forward. Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 8, 2024, was a resounding success, emphasizing WEN's significance and purpose.

Exploring Creative Possibilities

On July 30, 2024, Ms. Shibi Anand, Canva Ambassador, led an enlightening session on creative possibilities with Canva. Buddy group members Anna Scaria, Dr. Aparna, and Dhiya expertly coordinated the event, overcoming minor network issues. The session clarified doubts and inspired members to create engaging content with Canva.

International Yoga Day - A session to destress

To commemorate International Yoga Day, our Buddy group organized a valuable online session, focusing on yoga for stress management and overall health, specifically addressing the needs of women. The speaker was Dr. Aparna V. The informative discussion was well-received by members, shedding light on critical issues often neglected by young and working women.
